| Eligibility: |
Graduate
from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% (45% for
SC / ST) marks (or equivalent grades where grades are used)
at graduation level. Candidates passing qualifying
examinations from open universities, open schools and from
distance learning programmes of statutory or deemed
universities or in one sitting are not eligible. Students
appearing for their final year can apply but their admission
will be provisional and subject to obtaining the minimum
required marks and fulfilling other eligibility criteria. If
such a provisionally admitted student fails in the final
year of his/her Degree Examination and even if he/ she has
applied for re-evaluation at the university/ college, he/
she will not be allowed to continue the programme as the
offer of provisional admission stands automatically
cancelled on his/ her failure in the final year examination. |

| Programme & Specialization: |
The two year, full time, on-campus MBA (HHC) programme is
formatted such that apart from the classroom didactic
lectures, students spend a substantial amount of their
learning time in various healthcare delivery related set-ups
where they are exposed to actual hands on practical
training. During the period of study, the student will be
required to complete a number of case studies as also
complete a thesis pertaining to hospital/healthcare
management under the supervision of a guide. The students
will participate actively in a number of seminars, workshops
and presentations throughout the duration of the programme
which will help in developing self confidence and the
ability to realize their full potential. The programme
content is further enriched by eminent guest faculty,
innovative teaching methods and sessions which contribute to
all round personality development in addition to academic
excellence and practical competencies.

Examination Pattern: |
Students
will be evaluated throughout the two years of the programme
by periodic tests as well as assignments. Consideration will
be given for the student's contribution to classroom
discussions, written reports, reading and other assignments.
The evaluations of the student's performance are by means of
continuous on-going internal evaluations and also end
semester external examinations conducted by SIU. |
| Standard of Passing: |
The
performance of students of the MBA (HHC) programme is
evaluated on the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
system. A minimum Grade Point (GP) of 1.6 in every course
and a minimum CGPA of 2.00 at the end of the programme are
mandatory for the student to be eligible for the award of
the degree by SIU as a successful candidate. Theory &
Practicals will be separate heads of passing. Internal and
External Examinations are also separate heads of passing. |
| Award of degree: |
The
SIU will award the Master of Business Administration in
Hospital & Healthcare Management (MBA-HHC) at the end of the
two years programme to all successful candidates. A detailed
grade sheet and transcript will also be issued to each
successful student. |
| How to
Apply: |
The
SIHS is a part of the Symbiosis National Aptitude Programme
(SNAP) which is an entrance test common for all the PG
programmes of Symbiosis International University (SIU).
Step 1: Register online at www.snaptest.org before 24th
November 2009 for SNAP test scheduled on Sunday 20th
December 2009.
Step 2:
Register online at SIHS website
www.sihspune.org using your SNAP ID and password.
Step 3: Pay a non refundable registration fees of Rs.1000/-
by Cash, Credit Card or Demand Draft.
