About MBA - HHC
The two-year full time Master's degree in Hospital & Healthcare
Management focuses on equipping students with the knowledge and
skills required for the management of healthcare organizations. Be
it Hospitals, Pharmaceuticals, IT, Insurance, Clinical research,
Equipment, Manufacturing, Public healthcare establishment,
Consultancies, NGOs, Wellness industry and others as may evolve. The
programme aims at adopting a synergistic blend of academic knowledge
and practical intricacies of the field to create professionals.
Adept at identifying practical problems and using time tested and
emerging managerial techniques to arrive at the most appropriate
solution.
Graduate
of a Statutory University with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at
graduation level. Candidates passing degree examination by
part-time / correspondence / external course / distance
learning or in one sitting are not eligible.
Note:
Candidates appearing for Final year bachelor's degree
examinations may apply but their admission will be subject
to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks. (45% for SC/ST).
Selection Procedure:
Symbiosis National Aptitude Test + Group Discussion + Personal Interview.
Medium of Instruction:
English.
Programme & Specialization:
The program is formatted such that apart from the classroom
didactic lectures, students spend a substantial amount of
their learning time in various healthcare delivery related
set ups where they are exposed to actual hands on practical
training.
During the period of study, students will be required to
complete a number of case studies as also complete a project
pertaining to Hospital/Healthcare management under the
supervision of guide.
Eminent guest faculty further enriches the course content.
Innovative teaching methods and sessions which contribute to
all round personality development in addition to academic
excellence and practical competences.
Fees
mentioned above are applicable for first year.
Note: In case of cancellation of admission, the
non-refundable amount will also include the following:
1. Pre-induction leveling course fees Rs.15, 000/-included
in tuition fees.
2. Fees paid by student towards medical insurance premium.
Examination Pattern:
Students
will be evaluated throughout the two years of the programme
by periodic tests as well as assignments. Consideration will
be given for the student's contribution to classroom
discussions, written reports, reading and other assignments.
The evaluations of the student's performance are by means of
continuous on-going internal evaluations and also end
semester external examinations conducted by SIU.
Standard of Passing:
The
performance of students of the MBA (HHC) programme is
evaluated on the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
system. A minimum Grade Point (GP) of 1.6 in every course
and a minimum CGPA of 2.00 at the end of the programme are
mandatory for the student to be eligible for the award of
the degree by SIU as a successful candidate. Theory &
Practical’s will be separate heads of passing. Internal and
External Examinations are also separate heads of passing.
Award of degree:
The
SIU will award the Master of Business Administration in
Hospital & Healthcare Management MBA (HHC) at the end of the
two years programme to all successful candidates. A detailed
grade sheet and transcript will also be issued to each
successful student.

SIHS is a part of the Symbiosis National Aptitude Programme
(SNAP) which is an entrance test common for all the PG
programmes of Symbiosis International University.
Step 1:
Register online at www.snaptest.org before
November 23, 2011 - Wednesday, for SNAP test scheduled on
December 18, 2011 – Sunday,Time: 2pm to 4pm.
Step 2:
Register online at SIHS website www.sihspune.org using
your SNAP ID and password.
Step 3: Pay
a non refundable registration fees of Rs.1000/- by Cash,
Credit Card or Demand Draft.Draft.
