Career Prospects :

Well-trained technocrats with a strong scientific foundation make Medical Technology a challenging and rewarding career.  The demand for professionals who can provide diagnostic and therapeutic service has been growing at a much faster pace than the number being trained every year. Students can pick up global careers in hospitals, healthcare & diagnostic sectors, research and biotechnology and as application specialists in equipment organizations from the very day they complete the programme successfully.

Teaching Methodology :

The courses include both theoretical & practical knowledge of the Diagnostic Investigations and Equipments as applicable to the health care sector today.  It introduces students to emerging technologies and their applications.  Students spend considerable part of their learning time in hospital set-ups where they are exposed to actual hands on practical training.

As part of the curriculum, students are taught additional modules on Management issues relevant to the respective healthcare domain.  It emphasizes yet again on a multi disciplinary approach towards achieving professional success.

Evaluation :

The evaluation will have both internal & external components.  The internal component will be continuous through out the year & external component will be conducted by the university at the end of the year.  A student would be required to pass in each head (internal and external) independently.  From the academic year 2007-2008, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has shifted to the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) system.  Students would be awarded the Grade Point Average where grades would be awarded based on the class average.  A student would be required to perform well.
