Objective:
To train doctors & nurses in the field of Emergency Medical Services, focusing on pre-hospital care and create awareness and new services in the society.

Programme Highlights:

v   The first & only University accredited academic programme.

v  Curriculum and its implementation recognized by the Los Angeles Paramedic    training Institute and Department of Transportation, USA

v   The only Institute with an International Training Center (ITC) status of the American Heart Association (AHA) and a "Chapter" status of the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) organization, USA. Hence, BLS, ACLS, PALS and ITLS courses offered free) by Symbiosis are Internationally accepted

v  Modern teaching methodologies. Complete set of imported manikins for Adult, Pediatric and Trauma modules. Uniform and standardized teaching through CD roms, simulation studies  etc. Question bank of over 10,000 MCQs.

v  Internationally qualified, experienced faculty.

v  To date, trained more than 2500 doctor students. Few placed overseas.

Duration: 1 Year (10 months Theory/ Practical + 2 Months Hospital Rotation).
One day – Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 6.00p.m.
Intake: 150 Seats (Biannual Intake - March & September)
Eligibility: MBBS, BHMS, BAMS, BNYS, BUMS, BPT, BDS, BSMS, BSc. Nursing, P. B. BSc. Nursing, BSc. Emergency Care & Trauma Care & Technology, or its Equivalent, DHMS (with certificate from Homoeopathic Council with its equivalence to a 5 ½ year degree course).
Selection Procedure: Based on marks in Qualifying Examination followed by Personal Interview.
Medium of Instruction: English
Pattern of Programme: Annual
Fees Structure: Rs.18,000/- (Eighteen Thousand Only)
(Fees inclusive of Tuition fees, University examination fees, log book fees, uniform fees , eligibility fees)
Standard of Passing: 50 % passing in each head. Theory & Practical are separate head of passing.
Award of degree: Taking into consideration the performance at the annual examination will award Post Graduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services (PGDEMS) certificate. Statement of Marks will be issued to all the students.
Admission Procedure Prospectus & application forms can be obtained from SIHS on payment of Rs. 500/- or Rs. 600/- by post (payment to be made in cash or by DD drawn in favor of Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS), payable at Pune). Monday to Saturday : 10:00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
