Objective:
To develop and
groom top class management professionals
with in-depth knowledge and competencies
suited to the various segments that form the
healthcare field, globally.
The two year,
full time Master degree in Hospital &
Healthcare Management focuses on equipping
students with the knowledge and skills
required for the management of healthcare
organizations, be it hospitals, nursing
homes, pharmaceutical/ IT/ insurance
organizations or NGOs. The programme aims at
adopting a synergistic blend of academic
knowledge and practical intricacies of the
field to create professionals adept at
identifying practical problems and using
time tested and emerging managerial
techniques to arrive at appropriate
solutions.
Market Need &
Career Potential:
The healthcare
sector in India is in the middle of a high
growth phase both in terms of volume and
sophistication with corporatisation acting
as one of the major drivers of this sector.
The public healthcare sector has also been
expanding with the growing healthcare needs
of the population in line with the policies
of the government. The healthcare field also
has growing participation by new stake
holders such as the IT & Insurance sectors
who in themselves are rapidly growing and
expanding thereby generating higher demands
for trained healthcare administrators at all
levels. The advent of medical tourism and
functions such as BPOs/ KPOs has further
expanded the vistas for gainful utilization
of such trained professionals. All this, as
also the spurt in the number of new
healthcare projects in the last couple of
years has fuelled the demand for young
graduates specializing in hospital and
healthcare administration.
With the
medical sector becoming increasingly
competitive and growing rapidly, the need
for managing the healthcare field
professionally has become even more acute.
Hospital & Healthcare Administration
comprises a number of complex operations
with a considerable scope for ambiguity. A
thorough understanding of these complex
operations is essential for effective and
efficient policy making and optimal resource
utilisation. Application of basic management
tools in finance, marketing, production,
human resources, etc. are the need of the
hour. A structured programme addressing all
these issues is therefore the felt need of
the hour.
Teaching
Methodology:
The two year,
full time, on-campus MBA (HHC) programme is
formatted such that apart from the classroom
didactic lectures, students spend a
